Larry Boress serves as Membership Advisor to the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions. In this part-time role, he leads the Coalition Capacity Building Affinity Group, supports existing coalition directors in their local activities, identifies new groups as potential NA members and assists the multiple activities and staff of the National Alliance.
From 2006-2017, he held the position of President & CEO for the Midwest Business Group on Health (www.mbgh.org), a Chicago-based, non-profit, organization of over 120 self-insured public and private employers providing health benefits for over 4 million lives. In this capacity, he interacted daily with business, health plan, health care provider and government leaders, assisting and working with them in addressing health benefit and health care challenges and their management responsibilities.
Living in Phoenix full-time, he also serves as Executive Director of the National Association of Worksite Health Centers (www.nawhc.org), the nation's only organization for employers interested in planning and implementing onsite and near-site health and wellness centers.
Finally, he leads LSB Consulting on Health Benefit Strategies, assisting employers, providers and vendors in understanding, integrating and evaluating worksite health and wellness activities.
Mr. Boress spent the first 17 years of his career at the Illinois State Medical Society and has served as the Illinois Regional Leader of the Leapfrog Group efforts to promote hospital patient safety. He also was a co-founder of the Private Exchange Evaluation Collaborative, an entity created to provide unbiased information on private health insurance exchanges.
