Bio

Diane's Bio:
Receiving a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University, Diane went on to become Assistant Head Nurse at Beaver Valley Geriatric Center. She pursued a career in Coronary Care and became Assistant Director of Nursing at Heritage Valley Health System (HVHS).

Her career evolved as the need to develop and manage the first Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program for HVHS; which was the largest program in Western Pennsylvania. During this time Diane completed her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University. She continued to expand her experience by taking on the position as Manager of Marketing for Heritage Valley BusinessCare, Occupational Medicine. For over 7 years she was the Regional Director Marketing for the American Heart Association and responsible for Western Pennsylvania; directing hospital guidelines for care and interventions for treatment of acute cardiac events.

Over the past eight years she has been with the Pittsburgh Business Group on Health (PBGH) helping to increase membership by 12-15% consistently; diversifying revenue streams by 30% and bringing innovative ideas and programs to employers including the American Health Strategies Project, and PBGH Internship Program. Managing the Prescription Drug Program, Diabetes Program, and operational needs of the PBGH are some of her varied duties. A primary responsibility is the yearly development and distribution of the PBGH Annual Diabetes Report which shares regional, state and national data on diabetes rates, treatment and co-morbidities to support employers’ decisions on programs for their populations. Her understanding of the relationship between healthcare needs of employees and the challenges of employers has afforded her the opportunity to provide advice to groups like the Community Oncology Alliance, the Family Medicine Education Consortium, and the PA Dept. of Health Cancer Leadership Team.

Through her career she has actively been engaged in patient and public education around health risks and life-style changes for children through seniors. The ability to support patients and various populations with manageable, modifiable risk factors has long been a passion and critical component of her professional journey.

She is a member of the National and Pennsylvania Nurses Association; Recent Member of the IRB for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center; Secretary of the Penn State Alumni Chapter in Beaver Valley; Past-President of the Executive Women’s Council of Beaver County, member of the Board of Directors for the Health Hope Network, past-member of the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania and other volunteer positions. Currently she is treasurer for both the Glock Foundation, addressing breast cancer research and the Consumer Health Coalition. She has represented the American Heart Association as an expert on heart disease, nutrition, and physical activity in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette; KDKA TV-Morning Show; KDKA and Clear Channel Radio; and spoken at HERO, PBMI, and the National Business Coalition on Health (National Alliance) on healthcare and innovative benefit ideas.

In her spare time she and her husband enjoy the company of their 3 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws and 7 grandchildren. They also enjoy walking, biking and golfing.
